NEW this year- After listening to your feedback we decided to add 2 new products into the mix.
- Backcountry progression camp– for those of you who have done a bit of touring and want to go further afield on an overnight hut mission in spring time.

- Technique and core package- We’ve combined on-hill ski technique sessions with in-town core strength classes where the instructor exchange info on what you need to work on. From 6 July. More details here
If you’re asking yourself ‘Is this for me?’ and you have good general fitness, can make effective turns off-piste and are up for an adventure, then YES it is!
Who: Women new to the back country, those wanting a ground- up refresher or just some more experience with guides. Skiers, split-board snowboarders and telemarkers all welcome. Only 12 places available each session, book in now!
Focus: Intro to back-country safety and touring. Practical useable skills, local information and guided backcountry travel. We want to get you out there moving in the terrain.
Format: full day on mountain Saturday sessions, supported with a short Friday night info and gear check in. We can help you source gear to borrow/ rent so that you don’t need to buy before you try.
In October we plan to run a progression session an overnight ski touring hut trip, to come on this you need to have either come on one of our previous courses or have been out touring a couple times before.
Sat 20 July: Side-country Cardrona 1 (no ski pass required)
Sat 27 July: Backcountry Treble Cone 2 (touring day pass available $36)
21-22 Sept: Backcountry progression camp- Overnight trip- location TBC
Cost: $175 for each day sessions Cardrona 1 or Treble Cone 2- included Fri night info and full day Sat with guide ratio 1:6. Max 12 places each day.
Drop in on individual sessions or sign up for both for a 10% discount ($315 for both, saving $35)
Weekend in October $ and details still TBC, but let us know if you’re interested as numbers will be very limited.
For the Wanaka courses, Winter 1 qualified guides Anna Cook and Laetitia Campe from Aspiring Guides, will be teaching, coaching and supporting you throughout
Friday evening 6-8pm- meet at Aspiring Guides Office for chat, gear check, info and wine session.
Saturday 8am, meet Aspiring Guides office, car pool up mountain, aim to be back by 5pm and go for a debrief drink.
