Who: Women new to the back country, those wanting a ground- up refresher or just some more experience with guides. Skiers, split-board snowboarders and telemarkers all welcome. Only 12 places available each session, book in now!
Focus: Intro to back-country safety and touring. Practical useable skills, local information and guided backcountry travel. We want to get you out there moving in the terrain. Detailed programme info here
Format: 3 full day on mountain Saturday sessions, supported by a Fri night info lecture & discussion at St John’s Rooms, Wanaka. Designed as progression sessions, but feel free to come to just one or many. We can help you source gear to borrow/ rent so that you don’t need to buy before you try. Weekend away at M Olympus, Canterbury
Fri 20 (evening) & Sat 21 July- Snow Farm (no ski pass required) done
Fri 3 (evening) & Sat 4 Aug– sidecountry Cardrona (no ski pass required)
Fri 17 (evening) & Sat 18 Aug- backcountry Treble Cone (touring day pass available $36)
Sat 22-Sun 23 Sept- Mt Olympus Ski Field, Canterbury (leave Wanaka Fri 21)
Cost: $150 for each session- includes Fri night, full day Sat with guide ratio 1:6. (Usually $200 + for a day out with a guide)

To secure place, $50 non-refundable deposit (unless you can find someone to take your place) required, once registration received. Full payment due 7 days before event.
Adventure Consultants, the expedition climbing guiding company from Wanaka, will be co-ordinating the sessions and Winter 1 qualified guides Anna Cook and Laetitia Campe will be teaching, coaching and supporting you throughout.
