SATURDAY 4TH DECEMBER 2010
42 courageous chicks, 7 amazing coaches, 1 talented photographer, a fabulous filmer and an essential gofer in an stunning location.
Bike check, fundamental skills covered and 5 stations to rotate around- cornering, climbing uphill, descending, balance on the see saws and boxes, ramps, obstacles and challenges.
Lunch in the shade, well-needed refuelling, watering and creaming up.
Chatting and chilling, cakes and more to help get us up and into the forest.
Clusters set off in search of rocks, roots and switchbacks, berms and jumps, technical terrain and cruisy routes too.
Back to the camp, sweating and exhausted, refreshed by the river with a quick dip in.
Revived by cold beer, home-made burgers, falafels and cakes. The raffle was drawn, goodies collected, compliments flowing and new buddies bantering.
Money was raised for Te Kakano, our native plant community nursery which supports restoration projects around the Upper Clutha Area.
Big thanks to super supportive sponsors, friends and families- couldn’t do it without your encouragement
